drinking in the streets?

The only time drinking in the streets in legal is during festival type of thing. Over the weekend, I took advantage of that privilege and drove downtown to the Taste of Greece. I recommend this to everyone. You don't need to be Greek to join in and have a good time. Everyone is dancing, drinking, and eating, and just having a great time.

This is my second time attending the Taste of Greece. I'm not Greek so I figured that I wouldn't fit in, I'd be unable to pronounce any and all of the menu items, and just generally look awkward because everyone is so ethnic, I was totally wrong. Yes, the majority of people were Greek, but they are such a great group of people, they welcome you into their culture with open arms. And they still some Americana dishes for those who were too scared to try the octopus or quail.

The only negative thing I have to say about the fest was completely my fault. I brought my 2yr old daughter with. I forgot her stroller because my brain was in shambles as I ran out the door, 2 hours late. The festival is extremely kid friendly, during the day. But since I was late, it was the adult crowd that took over the 3 block party. So what I'm trying to say is that A) I should of brought the stroller and got there earlier, or B) got a babysitter and a safe ride home so I could of enjoyed the evening a bit more.

If anyone is curious about Greek culture or enjoys trying new/ethnic foods definitely try getting out to the Taste of Greece next year. Great people, great food, great time, and it's free, doesn't get much better than that.
